A Micro Church Wedding Near Waynesboro

Updated: 2 days ago

Abi and Liam tied the knot in early March 2025 at a small church in Greenwood, Virginia, and their wedding was a beautiful reminder that you truly don’t need a lot to have a meaningful and elegant wedding day.

They kept things intentionally simple. Their guest list was small and intimate, made up mostly of family, and their bridal party included only their closest friends. The ceremony took place in the church sanctuary, followed by a cozy reception in the church basement. No elaborate venue flips. No over the top plans. Just a joyful, heartfelt celebration.

This wedding is a perfect example of what I like to call a micro church wedding — intimate, faith-filled, and focused on connection over production. And it’s also proof that thoughtful photography can elevate even the most modest setting, turning it into something that feels timeless and refined.

Abi and Liam’s day flowed beautifully for the size of their wedding. Their ceremony began at 11:00 a.m., followed by a light brunch reception with pie for dessert. By 2:00 p.m., they were already on their way to their honeymoon. Simple, joyful, and stress-free. Everything about their wedding leaned DIY and personal, which made it feel even more special. Rather than worrying about trends or excess, they focused on celebrating their marriage — and that always shows in photographs.

What Abi & Liam Booked

I’ve started sharing booking details in my blog posts so couples can get a realistic point of reference while browsing my work. Abi and Liam booked a fully custom photography package that included:

  • 5 hours of wedding day coverage

  • Friday wedding date

  • Engagement session add-on

Their final gallery included approximately 500 images total from documenting both their engagement session and wedding day.

Micro weddings like this one are a reminder that elegance isn’t about scale — it’s about intention. When the day is thoughtfully planned and photographed with care, even the simplest spaces can feel beautiful, elevated, and lasting.
