About Us - Shenandoah Valley Wedding Photographers
After two years of living an hour-and-a-half apart and seeing each other only on weekends, we got married in June 2023 and settled down in the Shenandoah Valley. We just bought our first home last year, so Rachel is in her gardening era, and Daniel is doing many house projects!

Our favorite thing about being wedding photographers is building lasting relationships with our clients. We pray for them, check-in on them, and share the highlights of their wedding days with our own families! And we're not ashamed to admit that we still talk about and check in on our couples long after their wedding photos are delivered.

We believe weddings are not meant to be a huge continuous photoshoot. It is important to us that your day is focused on actually experiencing one of the most significant events of your life. We'll dedicate plenty of time to the necessary photos, but beyond that we'd like to give you the space you need to live in the moment, and we'll make sure those moments are documented naturally and unobtrusively. Our ultimate goal is to bless you with timeless images that allow you to relive the most special moments.

We met online (shoutout Hinge!) and a lot of our couples also met each other that way!
We love Chick-fil-a. If Rachel makes a trip to Harrisonburg, she's probably going to stop there...
Our wedding was FRIENDS themed! One time we took a couple's quiz and got Monica and Chander.

Some helpful details about our style and approach

What is your editing style? What kind of images can we expect in our gallery?
We hand select and hand edit every image! We aim for images that are true-to-life with an extra pop. We love crisp whites, true greens, and natural skin tones!
Your gallery will be filled with classically posed portraits, emotion filled candids, and other images that tell the story of your day in its best sense!

How do you posing throughout a wedding day?
We do a blend of well instructed posing, and a hands-off candid capturing throughout the wedding day. We will give you guidance during classic portrait moments - a few getting ready moments, formal family and bridal party portraits, and bride and groom portraits. During other parts of the day we capture things how they happen in real time! We find that this gives couples the best of both worlds when it comes to photos.

Can we see a full wedding gallery?
We don't typically share full wedding galleries because we like to respect our couple's privacy! We also believe one wedding galley doesn't full represent the scope of our work in a variety of venues, lighting, and other situations.
